This is a close up of a hat from a hat collection I have. Collecting hats can be called an obsession at times. This photograph makes good use of the rule of thirds. I had to light this photograph well because the flash on my camera washed out the detail on the badge and created a harsh shadow. This is not the effect I wanted so I had to light it with natural sunlight. I think the shallow focus on the badge and the rest of the hat gives it a nostalgic feel which i think fits the hat and creates a story for the reader to interpret.
