This is a close up of a toy I had when I was a child. There are lots of happy memories associated with this toy. I think that I used the rule of thirds to create negative space in this photograph as I wanted to show the apparent absent child. I wanted only one side of the Furby to be in this composition as I think that shows a creepiness and absence of life teamed with the dark eyes makes for an eerie overall photograph. The focus of the photograph is the dark lifeless eyes of the Furby, they seem out of place on a bright and colourful children's toy like this and so I wanted to draw attention to it. I think the overall photograph works well and it creates the desired effect, however if I were to improve this photograph I would chose a more neutral background as I think that the background in this photograph is too warm for the overall intended effect.
