Day 30: Portrait

This is a portrait of my friend Monique. These photographs are good portraits as I think the background contrasts and compliments the subject. I have to be careful to not add too much head room as that would make the photograph out of balance. The blossom falling behind Monique ads so much to the photograph and ultimately looks more professional. To improve this photograph I would try and add more elements into the portrait to make it more interesting or to tell a story
like the faceless portrait I did.

Day 29: Black and White

I decided to take a photograph of my bookshelf as this entry is black and white, like the saying, 'all there in black and white' it's all written down with ink on paper. I also made it black and white to make the outside of the book look like the inside. The implied lines made by the books draws the eye down the books and encourages the eye to read the spines. Unfortunately I could not get this photograph to follow the rule of thirds and that would be my improvement if I had to do this photograph again, I would fund some way of incorporating the rule of thirds into this photograph.

Day 29: Black and White

Day 28: Flowers

This is a close up photograph of fuchsia flowers. This particular photograph makes really good use of the rule of thirds. The contrasting colours between the pink and the green makes the plant very striking. This photograph has a shallow depth of field as the object in focus is close to the lens of the camera.

This is another photograph of a fuchsia flower but this time I took the photograph in portrait and this gave the photograph a whole different feel to it. It, like the previous photograph has a shallow depth of field and uses the rule of thirds effectively.
