This is a mid shot and a close up of my cat. Considering the subject I think I should have altered the name to 'eye' as this cat was born with only one eye. The focus of the photos is the cat and his remaining eye. The close up photograph is more effective than the mid shot as it forces the reader to look at the cat. This close up also shows the detail of the fur and the eye. The close up does follow the rule of thirds but the mid shot less so. to improve this photograph I would have chosen a different background as I think it distracts from the focus of the photograph.
