Day 25: Strangers

This is a photograph at the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebration and this was the queue to get in the actual exhibition. The lines of the barriers emphasise the perspective and the length of the queue, this also creates leading lines to draw the eye into the photograph. These photographs also use the rule of thirds effectively. If I were to improve this photograph I would crop out the barrier along the bottom as I think it detracts from the focus of the photograph.

These are some photographs of some birds trying to get their babies to leave the nest. I really love these photos as I think they capture nature at its finest. I think that these photographs don't quite use the rule of thirds effectively and that is one improvement I would make with these pieces. I like the bright blue colours of the birds feathers contrast against the neutral browns and greens of the background and the tress.

These are photographs of spider webs as they are interesting pattern created in nature. As webs are really fine and delicate it was hard to focus on them and it took a lot of time to get the photos how I wanted them. Which is why I tried again after it had been raining to take a photograph of the raindrops on the web. I think that the raindrops on the web makes the whole photograph look completely different and I like both for different reasons.

Day 22: Inspirational

This is my landscape of Central Park. This photograph works well because the bike in the middle of the scene is the focus and the layers of green grass, trees, skyscrapers and sky look really effective. I also think this is a good photograph also because it is clear it could not be anywhere else in the world. This photograph also uses the rule of thirds.

This is also a photograph from central park and the bright orange autumn trees were really striking against the blue sky. The dark brown branches of the trees leads the eye into the photograph. If I were to improve this photograph i would have tried to take the photograph that would include more sky so to make the most use of the contrasting colours.

This is the last photograph I took in central park of a water fountain with an angel statue. I found Central Park really inspiring as a place to visit. I really like the reflection of the statue in the water and the water captured in the air from the fountain. To improve this photograph I would try to take a photograph including all of the statue in the reflection as this would create a more effective symmetry and a better overall photograph.
